Content Description
Two folders containing documents relating to Buena Maris Mockmore's position as Supervisor of Women's Activities at Hanford Engineering Works in 1944-1945. Mockmore was "head woman" and highly respected by General Leslie Groves. The collection includes correspondence between the two relating to Groves's book "Now It Can Be Told". Mockmore was a long-time Oregon State University Home Ec. faculty and Dean of Women.

Provenance
Materials donated to HHP sometime between 2013 and 2015. Robert Franklin, project archivist, found materials while surveying collections in CIC 101N. Searches were made to locate the donor, and the OSU connection was then discovered. Decision was made in consultation with Michael Mays and Doug O'Reagan to donate the materials to OSU and keep an access copy in digital format. Next of kin was identified via google and deed of gift was mailed, then received. Papers were brought to OSU on March 30, 2016.
